Chris Wilcox
After an initial career in the legal and charity sectors, Chris transitioned to occupational therapy, earning a Master’s degree in 2019. Since then, Chris has served in the NHS as both an occupational therapist and a team manager, gaining substantial experience in conducting holistic assessments, chairing multidisciplinary team meetings, and overseeing intervention planning.
Within this role, Chris completed training in administering the Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule (ADOS) and Autism Diagnostic Interview (ADI) assessments as part of the CAMHS autism service. Since 2021, Chris has also worked as a private autism assessor, collaborating in a multidisciplinary team to conduct ADOS and ADI assessments, prepare detailed reports, and provide recommendations for young people and adults. Recently, Chris has expanded his expertise with training in sensory integration assessments, goal setting, and intervention planning, and has gained proficiency in utilising the new 'EASI' assessment framework to support individuals with sensory needs.
Outside of work, Chris is an avid cyclist and enjoys long walks with his Labrador, Clemmie. During summer, he attempts to teach her to stay calm in his open-top canoe – a work in progress!
