Conditions we treat & available treatments:

Prostate Checks and PSA Testing

Regular prostate checks are a vital part of maintaining men’s health, especially as you age. The prostate can change over time, and early detection of any issues—such as enlargement, inflammation, or signs of cancer—can make a significant difference.

Signs to watch out for:

  • Blood in urine or semen
  • Needing to urinate more than usual
  • A weak urine flow / taking a long time to urinate
  • Feeling like you haven’t emptied your bladder fully (or being unable to)
  • Difficulty in starting to urinate

The PSA test (Prostate-Specific Antigen test) is a simple blood test, widely used and a trusted blood test for monitoring prostate health and screening for prostate cancer. It measures the level of PSA, a protein produced by the prostate gland, which can rise due to various conditions—including benign enlargement, inflammation, or prostate cancer.

Prostate cancer is the most commonly diagnosed cancer among men in the UK, with over 52,000 new cases each year, making early detection especially important. While an elevated PSA level doesn’t always indicate cancer, it can be an early sign that further investigation is needed.

Many prostate conditions are successful treated, especially when caught early.  Our experienced doctors provide discreet, professional care in a comfortable and supportive setting. A simple check-up can offer peace of mind and help you stay on top of your health.

Erectile dysfunction & Male infertility

We are able to offer discreet and supportive consultations with our experienced team addressing erectile dysfunction at Haven Medical. We can also provide comprehensive assessments and guidance for male infertility, aiming to support and address concerns surrounding fertility and reproductive health.

Men’s Health | Advanced Wellness Check

Our Advanced Wellness Check is designed to offer peace of mind by identifying potential health concerns early, enabling you to take timely action. It is a detailed health screening, giving you valuable insight into potential health concerns and allowing you to take any preventative actions early.

The Advanced Wellness Check includes:

  • 30-minute pre-assessment
  • Body Composition
  • Blood Analysis (+50 biomarkers)
  • Cardiovascular Assessment
  • FIT testing
  • Urinalysis
  • 30 Minute Review & Consultation with GP

Additional biomarkers are also included in the Advanced Wellness Check

  • Male hormone profile: Including testosterone levels.

PSA blood testing: A protein produced by the prostate gland that can aid in the diagnosis of prostate disease and for monitoring response to treatment. (Further information can be provided to discuss the pros and cons of testing)

Extensive Blood Analysis (50+ biomarkers) covers:

  1. Full blood count
Detects infections, anaemia, inflammation, and a range of blood disorders
  2. Urea and electrolytes
Checks kidney function and essential mineral balances needed for nerve function and muscle contraction
  3. Kidney function (eGFR)
    Detects and monitors kidney disease
  4. Liver function tests
Assesses liver health and detects early signs of disease or damage
  5. Calcium and bone profiles
Can aid in the diagnosis of calcium related disorders such as osteoporosis, kidney disease and parathyroid disorders.
  6. Iron status
Low levels of iron can cause anaemia and contribute to fatigue.  High levels of iron (hemochromatosis) can result in significant health problems.
  7. Thyroid function
This test can diagnose an underactive and overactive thyroid.
  8. Vitamin D
A vital fat-soluble vitamin that supports bone, muscle and immune system health.
  9. HbA1c and blood glucose
A diagnostic tool for diabetes and pre diabetes.
  10. Folate and vitamin B12
Deficiencies can result in decreased energy, neurological and oral symptoms and pernicious anaemia.
  11. CRP
Marker of inflammation in the body. It is now understood to also aid in assessing cardiovascular disease.
