Libby Woolner
Libby has been a Speech and Language Therapist since 2006, with experience working within Paediatric, Special needs, Learning Disabilities, Adult Mental Health services and CAMHS. Libby’s breadth of experience has taken her into a wide range of settings, including Nurseries, Schools, Community, Hospitals, Psychiatric inpatients and secure inpatient units.
Libby enjoys working with all aspects of communication, with a particular interest in Total Communication approaches and has carried out additional training in Intensive Interaction, Autism assessment, Signalong and making information accessible for all. A special interest for Libby is in supporting Mental Health and alongside being an active Health and Wellbeing champion, she has undertaken training in a range of Therapeutic approaches including CBT, DBT and CFT.
Married to Rob, a Head of year in a Secondary School and mum to 2 teenage children, as a family they enjoy keeping active, playing sports and being outdoors. Colleagues describe Libby as kind, compassionate and flexible, with a passion for communication and a desire to help everyone find ‘their voice’. Having worked extensively with both children and adults with Autism, Libby has recently expanded her skill set to include being part of the Autism assessment process and finds this a very rewarding role.
