Very efficient, welcoming and informativePosted on Megan AnnTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. I can’t recommend this private GP practice highly enough. I’ve attended for my own GP appointments as well as appointments for my daughter, and every visit has been a great experience. Most of the time I have been able to get a same-day appointment, which was very important to me with children. I have seen both Dr Newman, who was so lovely, knowledgeable, and informative, always taking the time to listen and explain everything clearly, and Dr Kate Bolwell, who was very gentle and reassuring with my daughter and made the whole experience of toddler vaccinations far less daunting and even enjoyable. I can’t commend them enough for how wonderful they both were. An excellent practice with exceptional doctors.Posted on Tracy CroslandTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. I chose Haven Medical firstly after receiving a very competitive quote and also I liked the idea of a private clinic as opposed to large private hospital. All the staff were very helpful, kind and professional in every way. Thankyou, I would highly recommend Haven Medical .Posted on Jessica WarburtonTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. I recently had an exceptional experience at Haven Medical that I felt compelled to share. My partner called in the morning, and just an hour later, we had an appointment for our six-year-old son, who has type one diabetes. We had originally contacted our regular doctor's office, only to be told that the next available appointment wouldn't be until New Year's Eve, which was frankly unacceptable given my son's high temperature and persistent cough. Upon arriving at Haven Medical, we were greeted by a friendly and helpful staff member at the front desk, which immediately put us at ease. The doctor who examined our son was thorough and attentive, taking the time to ensure that all our concerns were addressed. She provided a prescription for antibiotics and never rushed through the appointment, making sure we felt comfortable and informed. The entire process was smooth, and we were seen just five minutes before our scheduled time, which was impressive. I can't recommend Haven Medical enough; the quality of service we received was outstanding. We will definitely be returning for future healthcare needs and are more than willing to pay for the excellent care they provide!Posted on john gilbertTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Our private dermatology specialists provide expert, personalised care for skin tag removal at Haven Medical in Poole and Bournemouth. Skin tags are extremely common and entirely benign, but they can be uncomfortable, catch on clothing or jewellery, and many people simply want them removed for cosmetic reasons. Whatever your reason for seeking treatment, our consultant dermatologists are here to help.
Whether you have a single skin tag you would like removed, multiple skin tags in different locations, or tags that are causing irritation or discomfort, we offer fast access to safe and effective private treatment. All procedures are carried out by our consultant dermatologists using precise removal techniques, with your comfort and care as the priority throughout.
The NHS does not routinely remove skin tags for cosmetic reasons, leaving many patients without an accessible treatment pathway. At Haven Medical, we provide a straightforward private alternative, with appointments available quickly and procedures completed in a single visit in most cases.
Transparent, competitive pricing for private dermatology care with no hidden costs. All consultations include a thorough examination and personalised treatment plan. Additional procedures and treatments are discussed and agreed before proceeding.

A skin tag ((acrochordon) is a small, soft growth that hangs from the surface of the skin on a thin stalk. They are entirely benign and harmless, and extremely common, with around half of all adults developing at least one at some point in their life.
Skin tags vary in size, from a tiny pinhead to around the size of a small grape, and are usually skin-coloured or slightly darker. They have a smooth or slightly wrinkled surface and move freely when touched. They are most commonly found in areas where skin rubs against skin or clothing, such as the neck, armpits, eyelids, groin and under the breasts.
A skin tag is not the same as a wart, mole or cyst. Warts tend to have a rougher, harder surface and are caused by a virus. Moles are flat or raised pigmented spots. Cysts sit within the skin itself and may have a visible central point. Skin tags are softer, smoother and attached by a distinct stalk.
If you have noticed a new growth or one that is changing in appearance, it is always worth having it assessed by a medical professional. Most skin tags require no treatment at all, but if yours is catching on clothing, causing irritation or you would simply prefer to have it removed, our Consultant Dermatologists at Haven Medical can help.
Skin tags develop when skin repeatedly rubs against itself or clothing, which is why they are so commonly found in skin folds and creases. They are more common in people who are overweight, during pregnancy, in those with type 2 diabetes, and tend to run in families. Hormonal changes can also play a role. While they can appear at any age, they become more common as we get older.
The cost depends on the size, location and removal method required. All fees are discussed and agreed with you before any procedure takes place. Please see our pricing section for indicative costs.

If you are unsure whether a growth is a skin tag, our Consultant Dermatologists can assess it and provide a clear diagnosis.
Skin tags are entirely benign and pose no health risk. They are not cancerous and do not develop into cancer. However, if you notice a growth that is changing in size, shape or colour, bleeding without cause, or causing you concern, it is always worth having it assessed by a medical professional to rule out anything more serious.
The procedure is carried out under local anaesthetic, so discomfort during removal is minimal. Some mild soreness or redness around the area is normal afterwards and usually settles within a few days.
There are various home removal kits and natural remedies available, but these are generally not recommended. Home treatments carry a risk of infection, scarring and incomplete removal, and without a professional assessment there is always a small chance that what appears to be a skin tag is something that warrants closer examination. Professional removal at Haven Medical is quick, straightforward and carried out by a Consultant Dermatologist, giving you the safest and most effective result.
Skin tag removal is a quick and straightforward procedure. At Haven Medical, our Consultant Dermatologists use a number of precise methods depending on the size and location of the skin tag. These include surgical excision, where the tag is removed with a small blade, cryotherapy, where it is frozen off, and cauterisation, where heat is used to remove it. All procedures are carried out under local anaesthetic so you should not feel any pain, and most patients are in and out within a single appointment.
The cost of skin tag removal at Haven Medical will depend on the number and size of the skin tags being treated. Pricing is confirmed at your initial consultation. Please contact us or book an appointment at our Canford Cliffs clinic to find out more.
